Life With Two

Can I just say I LOVE my family of four! Granted I'm writing this after we've had almost 2 months to adjust, but still... 2 kids is way better than 1. Elliott has been great with Easton. The first couple days home we were nervous to leave her alone in the same room with the baby. But we quickly got over that fear and she hasn't caused any catastrophes yet. Key word being "Yet" I'm sure. Every morning Elliott wakes up and wants to know where her baby brother is. Its adorable how she talks to him! Lots of "Awww, baaaby, it's okay, and cuuute!" It's especially cute when she calls him "Chubbo" or gets confused and calls him "Sister." She asks to hold him several times a day and gives him lots of kisses. She wasn't overtly jealous of him but we did pick up on some subtle signs. Everything became and ouchie. She'd barely bump into the couch and need us to give her lots of kisses. I even took her to the pediatrician twice to get her ears checked. But luckily that stage didn't last long.

Easton is an amazing baby. At first he was a lot of work wanting to eat every 2 hours around the clock. At his 6 week appointment he weighted 16lb 2oz which was over the 100% percentile. He is finally stretching out to 3 hours and the extra hour makes a huge difference! He is falling into a nice pattern, sleeping in his crib at night, and for most naps. He seriously never cries and is starting to smile all the time. We couldn't have asked for better kids!

And our sweet Elliott is almost 2 years old. Her vocabulary is increasing by the day. She says the funniest things but her facial expressions that go along with it are the best. She's always saying, "Watch this Mom." If we don't watch she'll say is quieter, then get a little closer, and say it quieter, until she's whispering. It's so adorable. For her birthday we bought her a scooter. She was with Jesse when he bought it and convinced her it was his. So now there's a pink scooter, unwrapped, just sitting in our living room. Every day she says, "Daddy's scooter?" I hope she's not confused when she opens it.

Halloween was the best this year and she was old enough to enjoy it. She kept all her pirate accessories on the whole night. Every house that was decorated she'd yell "Spooky house!" Then she'd yell to her cousins, "Sidewalk guys, cars comin!" She was so excited about her chocolate she was eating it through the wrapper. I can't wait until Easton is old enough for them to play together.
